“After many years away from recorder playing, Eleanor has helped me to regain confidence in my playing through her patience and positive outlook in lessons. Her knowledge of recorder playing and history, as well as practice techniques, helped me to pass my grade 8 exam with a distinction. Many thanks, Eleanor, for all your help.”Teresa, Recorder Student
I have always been passionate about music, and love to share this with others. I have experience teaching one to one and group lessons, as well as tutoring groups of various sizes and abilities. Theory and aural training are a key part of my lessons to support a well-rounded musician.
Teaching highlights have included being appointed Ensembles Tutor for the Birmingham Schools Recorder Sinfonia and Birmingham Schools Recorder Ensemble, conducting the Birmingham Society of Recorder Players as a guest conductor, and leading my local Flute choir.
Currently, I am enjoying the new challenge of working in a classroom environment as a Learning Support Assistant. I have felt inspired by the other members of staff as well as the children and loved adapting my skills to the needs of the children.
I am based in the West Midlands, and use the Contact Me page on this site with any questions or queries about lessons or ensemble coaching. I have experience teaching the recorder, flute, and saxophone.
